2017 Case Study


Background: The Container Store is an American specialty retail chain which offers storage and organization products. The company has made Fortune's list of "100 Best Companies to Work For" in each of the past 17 years, through 2016. The company looked for The Garrity Group's assistance introducing their product to New Mexico. 

Challenge: The Container Store’s internal team had a specific plan, they just needed a team who knew and understood the local community.  This provided a variety of unique opportunities to position the Albuquerque location at Coronado Mall. Our work focused on introducing the brand, recruiting staff and introducing the event to influencers and opinion leaders.

Solution: The Garrity Group provided media training for members of The Container Store staff and hosted a variety of instore events in advance of the grand opening.  We were able to help provide awareness through the Albuquerque Journal, Chain Store Age, Albuquerque Business First, ABQ Free Press Weekly, KRQE-TV News , KOB-TV News, KKOB-AM News and KOAT-TV.  As a result of our efforts, The Container Store grand opening message had more than 8.9 million views, reaching each person in the Albuquerque media market ten times.
